Best Unified API for ERP Integrations in 2026

No unified API vendor ships an ERP API, including Unified.to, and that's the first honest thing to say about this category. What exists instead is a set of very different answers to the same question: how does your product read and write your customers' ERP data? Some vendors put an ERP label on their accounting API. Some serve ERPs through accounting with no label. Some hand you infrastructure and let you build the models.

As of August 2026, Unified.to is the only vendor in the set with all eleven benchmark ERP platforms live as API integrations, from NetSuite and SAP S/4HANA Cloud through Epicor Kinetic and Unit4 ERPx, on one connection across five category APIs. This post compares nine vendors on what their own documentation says, with a source and date on every claim.

How we evaluated

Every claim below comes from each vendor's own website, docs, and pricing pages, checked in August 2026, with stage labels quoted verbatim. Nothing comes from review sites, third-party listicles, or another vendor's comparison page. Where something couldn't be verified on a primary source, it isn't claimed.

The benchmark is eleven ERP platforms a B2B product is most likely to meet in a mid-market or enterprise deal: NetSuite, SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, Sage Intacct, Acumatica, Oracle Fusion ERP, Epicor Kinetic, Unit4 ERPx, Workday, and QuickBooks Desktop. For each vendor, four questions: which of the eleven are live by API, what does the vendor's own documentation say about stage and depth, can a developer determine coverage before building, and does the data model handle what makes an ERP an ERP, starting with multi-entity structure.

One benchmark caveat applies to every vendor, Unified.to included: platform naming is looser than it looks. Every vendor in this comparison lists "Workday" generically, and none documents Workday Financials by name. Several list "QuickBooks" without saying Online or Desktop, and Oracle's finance products appear variously as Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, Oracle Financials Cloud, and Oracle Financials. Where a vendor doesn't name the product precisely, this comparison doesn't credit it with the benchmark platform.

Two rows deserve the plain sentence: Epicor Kinetic and Unit4 ERPx are live API integrations at exactly one vendor in this set. Everywhere else they are absent, a 404, "on our radar," or a spreadsheet-upload flow.

Three questions that separate the field

The durable differences here aren't individual features, which change monthly. They're structural, and each one is a question you can put to any vendor.

Can you know what works before you build? This is the question to ask first, and the answer differs more than the marketing does. Four of these vendors publish real coverage data. Merge has a field-level matrix, roughly 900 fields by 16 platforms, marking GET, POST and PATCH per cell. Rutter has an endpoint-level one across 40 object families. Truto lists supported resources and methods per integration. Apideck exposes per-connector coverage, field schemas and supported operations included, as a public machine-readable API. Credit where it's due, and then read them closely, because the enterprise tier is where they thin out. Rutter's covers five platforms, none of them the enterprise ERPs it markets. Truto's covers eleven integrations, and the Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and Oracle Fusion entries its own catalogue files under Accounting don't appear in it at all. In Merge's, as of August 2026, Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, Dynamics Finance and Operations and Workday carry no writable fields, against 188 for NetSuite. Codat publishes no such surface and sends you to runtime model endpoints, because requirements differ per integration in its own words. Unified.to publishes the capability matrix as pages, per integration, for every integration: readable fields, writable fields, list parameters, webhook events. The general point holds whichever vendor you pick: read the coverage data, not the logo wall, and if the platform you need isn't in it, that absence is your answer.

Does the model know what a subsidiary is? Multi-entity structure is much of what makes a platform an ERP. Rutter models it credibly: a read-only Subsidiary object with a documented elimination flag, supported for NetSuite and Sage Intacct. Apideck documents subsidiaries with unusual candour, including NetSuite OneWorld behaviour and the plain statement that consolidation and intercompany elimination are out of its scope. Merge has no entity object, and no field in its published matrix carries a subsidiary or parent relationship; its docs note that multiple entities "may show up" as separate company-info records. Codat states plainly that on NetSuite, intercompany journal lines from non-connected subsidiaries are ignored, and that writing to subsidiary companies is not supported. Unified.to's accounting organization object carries the entity hierarchy, an elimination flag, and per-entity currency, with organization-scoped filters across ledger reads, verified on NetSuite, where the object maps directly to the subsidiary record.

Where does your customer's data live in the meantime? In the vendors' own words: Merge stores end-user data "indefinitely, until actively deleted," with sync cadence best-cased at one hour; Codat's reads come from "Codat's cache," with hourly sync a premium feature; Rutter caches reads and passes writes through directly; Truto states "each call hits the vendor live" and stores no response, the one architectural peer to Unified.to in the set. Unified.to executes reads and writes against the source at request time and stores no customer data; for a ledger, that's the difference between a report reflecting this morning's write and reflecting yesterday's sync.

The vendors

Apideck has built genuine accounting depth, including bank feeds and a broad resource model reaching subsidiaries, tracking categories, and financial statements, and its multi-entity documentation is the most candid in the field. Its ERP API, per its own page markup, is the Accounting API under another name, and the live tier of its benchmark coverage is four platforms, with SAP in "Demo" and the mid-market ERP tier "on our radar." Codat goes deep on the accounting platforms it serves by API, and it documents its limitations more plainly than anyone, which is worth respect. Structurally, ERP is a paid add-on line item on its plans, every ERP connector is "Premium," public pricing doesn't exist, and the enterprise ERP tier beyond its six API platforms is served by guided spreadsheet export rather than an API.

Merge publishes the most granular coverage data in this comparison, field by field and platform by platform, and its writes apply in real time by its own docs. That transparency is also what shows the shape of its ERP tier: NetSuite is deep, Sage Intacct is solid, and the enterprise platforms below them thin out quickly. Its ERP story is its Accounting API, and no field in the published matrix carries a subsidiary or parent-entity relationship, so multi-entity structure is something your application reconstructs. Its stored-data architecture is a fit question worth asking deliberately.

Rutter ships a genuinely strong subsidiary model, the only competitor here with a documented elimination flag, real platform depth where documented, with substantive setup guides for SAP S/4HANA and Oracle Fusion, and the field's most readable endpoint support matrix. That matrix covers five platforms, none of them the enterprise ERPs it markets. Its three published connector lists disagree with each other, no ERP capability carries a stage label, and its docs-side plan gating doesn't map to its pricing page's plans, so a buyer can't tell what tier a given ERP requires.

StackOne positions against the unified API model entirely: ERP data arrives as per-connector agent actions preserving each platform's native shape. Its live ERP set is three platforms, and its SAP S/4HANA actions cover sales and master data with no general ledger, so the ERP label there is operational data, not financials.

Truto shares Unified.to's no-storage architecture, prices per connector, and publishes its resource and method coverage per integration. That coverage page is also the clearest statement of its ERP scope: eleven integrations, of which three are benchmark ERPs, with NetSuite readable across fourteen resources and writable only on accounts. Its Oracle Fusion and D365 F&O entries sit in the Accounting catalogue with no coverage published and a "built on request" services posture.

Paragon is an embedded iPaaS rather than a unified API, and within that frame its D365 Finance connector is genuinely deep, with line-item-level actions. There is no unified accounting data model: its sync layer covers files, CRM, and tickets, and accounting logic is written per connector. The full frame is in Paragon vs. Unified.to.

Knit documents per-endpoint app support with unusually candid field-level caveats, and its credit-allocation modelling is genuinely AR/AP-specific. Its callable ERP tier on this benchmark is three platforms, with an "Oracle Financials" listing that isn't tied to a named Oracle product; its SAP, Acumatica, and Workday entries exist as marketing pages absent from the docs app list.

Building it yourself is a real option two vendors productize: on Nango you define your own models and write per-integration functions, and Ampersand takes the same schema-is-yours position with per-provider raw objects. That's maximum control and real engineering investment, and the right trade when one tenant-specific ERP configuration is the product. Kombo and Finch sit outside this comparison by their own design: Kombo is deliberately HR-tech only, and Finch serves payroll and HR data, with its ERP-adjacent platforms available through an assisted, administrator-mediated flow.

Where Unified.to fits

ERP at Unified.to is not a category, deliberately. It's the Accounting, HR & Directory, E-Commerce, Shipping, and Payment APIs on one connection, so a general ledger gets an accounting-grade model and an employee record gets an HR-grade one, instead of both flattening into an ERP schema. The coverage claim, stated with its stages: all eleven benchmark platforms are live in the integration directory as of August 2026. NetSuite spans nine categories with the full order-to-cash and fulfillment chain. SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Dynamics 365 Business Central, Sage Intacct, Workday, and QuickBooks Desktop are established integrations. The enterprise tier arrived more recently and is read-first: Unit4 ERPx spans five categories with reads and contact writes, Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations spans three with reads, Oracle Fusion ERP reads its accounting objects with early write operations on contacts, bills and invoices, and Epicor Kinetic and Acumatica launched in July 2026 read-only. Every one of those states is on the integration's own page, and on Epicor and Unit4 it's the only live API path either platform has in this comparison. FAQ

Does any unified API vendor have an actual ERP API category? No. Every ERP label in the market, including the word on Unified.to's own ERP page, sits over other APIs. The question that matters is which model an invoice, an employee, or a subsidiary comes back in, and whether you can verify that per platform before building.

How should I verify a vendor's ERP claims? On their documentation, not their marketing pages, because the two disagree at most vendors in this comparison. Look for the platform's own capability or coverage page, quote the stage label you find, and note the date. Where no such page exists, that absence is the finding.

What about SAP, Oracle, and the enterprise tier? This is where the field thins fastest. As of August 2026, by API: SAP S/4HANA Cloud is live at Unified.to and carries a "Demo" label at Apideck; StackOne and Paragon list "SAP S/4HANA" without an edition, StackOne's without general-ledger objects and Paragon's badged BETA; at Codat it's a file-export flow, and elsewhere it's absent. Oracle Fusion ERP is live at Unified.to and in beta at Merge, and beta-with-no-published-resources, upload-only, or absent elsewhere.

Which vendor is best? It depends on the shape of your product, honestly. Deep single-platform control favours build-your-own. An AP-automation product on the big accounting platforms has several credible options in this list. A product that has to meet whichever ERP its next customer runs, with writes, events, and coverage you can verify first, is the case this comparison was built to answer.
