September 2026 product update

October 2, 2026

In September, Unified.to published Agent Skills: more than 100 free SKILL.md files that let a coding agent build an integration against Unified.to, including more than 80 that walk the agent through registering an OAuth2 app in a vendor's developer portal.

The GenAI API added Task, for work handed to a cloud agent, across nine agent integrations including Cursor, Devin, Google Jules, and Anthropic Claude Agents, and the Unified API and MCP server added Enterprise-Managed Authorization.

New integrations concentrated in accounting, advertising, payments, verification, and regional HR, taking the catalogue to 1,030 integrations at the end of September 2026. Across the unified API, 1,683 enhancements shipped, including transaction_at on 18 accounting integrations and time off and shift objects on 25 integrations.

Agent Skills: hand the integration to your coding agent

A developer can now give a Unified.to integration to a coding agent with one instruction, and the agent has what it needs to build it: more than 100 Agent Skills, the Core MCP server, and the full docs as plain text.

The skills are free and public: install them into any coding agent, whether or not you're a Unified.to customer yet. Each skill is a SKILL.md file that teaches an agent how to build against a Unified.to API for a common use case. There are two kinds.

Skill typeWhat it covers
Use-case skillsA quick start, then one skill per job: payments, e-commerce, ATS, accounting, assessments, enterprise search with RAG, CRM, HRIS, messaging, ticketing, sign-in, calendar, debugging webhooks and connections, API basics, and SDKs
OAuth2 app registration skillsOne skill per vendor developer portal or product, 80 in all, plus five base skills for the portals that several products share: Google, Microsoft, Atlassian, Zoho, and Meta

OAuth2 app registration

Registering an OAuth2 app with each vendor has been the onboarding step that a person had to do by hand: a developer account, redirect URIs, scopes, a client ID and secret, and in some cases a review or partner programme. Each OAuth2 skill walks the agent through one vendor's portal and ends with credentials ready to add to the integration in Unified.to. Coverage includes Salesforce, HubSpot, QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Workday, Greenhouse, Shopify, Slack, Zoom, and the Microsoft Graph and Google Workspace products.

The skills also cover the vendors where self-serve registration is not possible. Brex OAuth apps are partner-gated, with no developer portal that issues credentials. ServiceNow and Workday clients are registered inside each customer's own instance or tenant, so there is no central client to obtain. Connecting more than one Zendesk account requires a global OAuth client, which Zendesk grants on request. An agent that knows this stops at the step that needs a person, instead of retrying a form that will never return credentials.

The skills are instructions an agent follows, not an automated process. Vendor portals change, and some steps still need a person: accepting terms, verifying a business, or passing a vendor's app review.

Install

Claude Code. The Unified.to plugin adds every skill plus the Core MCP server, and prompts for your workspace API key, which it keeps in secure storage. It needs Claude Code v2.1.224 or later.

/plugin marketplace add https://docs.unified.to/.claude-plugin/marketplace.json
/plugin install unified@unified-to

Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, and other agents. The open-source skills CLI detects the agents you use and copies the skills into each one's skills folder.

npx skills add https://docs.unified.to

Any agent that can read a URL. Paste this in. The quick-start skill tells the agent which category skill to load next.

Add Unified.to integrations to my app: https://docs.unified.to/skills/unified-quickstart/SKILL.md

App builders such as Lovable, Replit, Bolt, and v0 take the same prompt. The workspace API key grants access to the whole workspace, so keep it in the builder's server-side secrets, not in frontend code.

The agent writes the code against the Unified.to API. Unified.to keeps the integrations behind it working as vendors change their APIs, so neither you nor your agent has to.

Every docs page opens in your agent

Every page on docs.unified.to has a Copy page menu. It copies or opens the page as Markdown, sends it straight to ChatGPT, Claude, or Cursor, and links to Agent Skills. Set up your AI agent, in the same menu, gives the best skill for that page with its install command, one-click setup for the Core MCP server in Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code, and Codex, and links to llms.txt and llms-full.txt, which holds all of the docs in one file.

What the agent does after the code is written

The Core MCP server is what lets the agent finish the job. Connected with a workspace API key, it checks which integrations support which objects, manages connections and webhooks, and reads API-call logs. Creating the Unified.to account itself still takes a person.

If you own the agent rather than the code, none of this asks you to read the docs first. The setup steps that stall an integration project, credential registration above all, are now written for the agent to follow.

Migrate to Unified

A new Migrate to Unified section in the docs has step-by-step guides for teams moving from another unified API: Merge, Apideck, Kombo, Finch, and Rutter. The categories, objects, and CRUD operations map one to one, and end users' connected accounts stay where they are. What changes is how a connection is identified, how lists are paged, and how changes are received.

GenAI API: agent tasks

The new Task object in the GenAI API lets an application start, track, and read the results of work it hands to a cloud agent, across agents, through one GenAI API. Coding agents are the first use: a task with a repository, a branch, and a pull request at the end.

Supported as of October 1, 2026: Anthropic Claude Agents, Browserbase, Codegen, Cursor, Devin, GitHub, Google Jules, opencode, and TinyFish.

ObjectPurpose
TaskA unit of work handed to a cloud agent: its instructions, status, conversation, and results, plus the repository, branches, and pull request for a coding agent
AgentThe reusable agent configuration a task runs on, with its instructions and model
OrganizationThe organization or execution environment a task runs under
Task is the object an application works with. Agent and Organization are lookups: agent_id and organization_id on a task resolve to the configuration and environment it ran under.

Every agent records the same unit of work differently. Task gives an application one shape for it. repo_url, source_branch_identifier, and target_branch_identifier say where the agent worked. status takes one of eight values: PENDING, RUNNING, BLOCKED, COMPLETED, FAILED, CANCELLED, EXPIRED, or OTHER. pullrequest_url points at the result, summary carries the agent's own account of what it did, and error carries the failure when the status is FAILED. files_changed, lines_added, lines_deleted, and tokens_used measure the work, and messages holds the conversation between the user and the agent.

status is readable on all nine integrations. An application dispatching work to Cursor, Devin, and Google Jules reads one status field to find every blocked task and one pullrequest_url to find every finished change, instead of keeping a status vocabulary and a results path for each agent. instructions is writable on all nine, so a task is created the same way everywhere, and messages is writable on six.

As of October 1, 2026, virtual webhooks on Task detect changes and deliver events for Anthropic Claude Agents, Browserbase, GitHub, opencode, and TinyFish. Object, field, method, and webhook coverage varies by what each agent's API permits, and changes as we ship. The current matrix is on the Supported Integrations page.

Typed decisions on the prompt model

The GenAI prompt model now carries typed questions and answers, starting with TypeSafe AI's Jev decision model. A prompt can include questions, each of type BOOLEAN, CHOICE, or SCORE, and the response returns one answer per question: the selected value, a score, the probability of every option, and a confidence from 0 to 1. An application that needs a decision rather than prose reads a typed answer and a confidence, instead of parsing a sentence.

Enterprise-Managed Authorization

The Unified API and the Unified MCP server now support Enterprise-Managed Authorization (EMA), an authorization standard released in 2026 that works alongside SAML SSO. An IT admin sets access policy centrally, and employees then authorize access to their accounts within that policy.

→ EMA with Microsoft Entra ID → EMA with a static key → EMA with a workspace secret

Unified MCP: 69,948 tools

The Unified MCP server carried 69,948 tools as of September 30, 2026, including 13,553 unified tools, up from 43,456 and 8,242 on July 22, 2026.

Amounts, currency, and period close across accounting integrations

On September 21 we added the fields that make an accounting total reconcilable across currencies, tax treatments, and periods, on up to 18 accounting integrations per field.

FieldObjectIntegrations

An invoice total without exchange_rate, sub_total_amount, and is_inclusive_of_tax is a number an application cannot reconcile against a ledger kept in another currency or tax regime. books_close_at tells the application which periods are already closed before it writes an entry dated into one.

The same pass reached tax rates and payments. is_compound and country became readable on Taxrate across six integrations each, and purchaseorder_ids on Bill across six. On Refund, refunded_at landed across 10 integrations and tender_type across 9, including Stripe, SquareUp, Toast, Recurly, and Moneris. On Payout, fee_amount landed across 7, with lineitems, arrival_at, and account_id on Stripe, SquareUp, and GoCardless.

Sales receipts, purchase receipts, and expense reports

On September 28 we added three accounting objects in one pass: Salesreceipt on 4 integrations, Purchasereceipt on 4, and Expensereport on 7. Fourteen of the fifteen shipped with created and updated virtual webhooks. NetSuite carries all three.

ObjectIntegrations
SalesreceiptIntuit Enterprise Suite, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Zoho Books
PurchasereceiptMicrosoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, NetSuite, Odoo, SAP S/4HANA Cloud
ExpensereportConcur, Concur (Company), Darwinbox, HR WORKS, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Xero
Salesreceipt carries the sale, its payment_method, and its tax and discount amounts on one record. Purchasereceipt links to its purchase order through purchaseorder_id, which is how an application matches what was ordered against what was received.

In the same release, type became readable on Expense across eight integrations: Brex, Concur, Concur (Company), Darwinbox, Freshbooks, Harvest, Navan, and Rydoo. Concur and Concur (Company) also made user_id, type, total_amount, currency, and category_ids writable on Expense.

Time off and shifts across 25 integrations

Between September 1 and 18, a Timeoff object shipped on 15 integrations and a Timeshift object on 13: 25 integrations in all, including Workday, BambooHR, Oracle HCM, and Paycor.

Timeoff. BreatheHR, ClayHR, Employment Hero Payroll, foundU, HR Cloud, Humaans, Humanforce, Iris HR, Multiplier, PeopleForce, Proliant, Readytech Zambion, Unit4 ERPx, Zellis, Zoho People

Timeshift. BambooHR, Darwinbox, Employment Hero, FactorialHR, foundU, Humanforce, Keka, Oracle HCM, Paycor, Rosnet, Workday, Workday (Legacy), Zoho People

An application scheduling staff or calculating labour cost needs both records: the shifts people are scheduled for and the time they are away. duration and duration_type also became readable on Timeoff across FactorialHR, Personio, Rippling, Sage HR, and Xero.

Filtering by status and date

On September 15 and 18 we added a status filter to list requests on 42 objects, counted per integration, across ATS, advertising, task, e-signature, HR, payment, and commerce integrations, including Ashby, BambooHR, HiBob, Google Ads, Google Search Ads 360, Apple Ads, Atlassian Jira, GitHub, Shortcut, Xodo Sign, and Zoho Sign. Eleven also accept the filter on virtual webhooks.

Date-range filters, start_gte and end_lt, were added on Invoice across seven accounting integrations: Intuit Enterprise Suite, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, MYOB, Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, QuickBooks, SAP S/4HANA Cloud, and Xero.

Without a status filter, an application that wants open jobs lists every job and discards the closed ones itself. Without a date range, it pages through every invoice to find one month's.

Unified is built for AI-native products. Every request reads from the source, so an agent works from the customer's current data, and the MCP server ran the stateless protocol the day it was finalized because the architecture was already stateless.

September extends that to the coding agents building those products: Agent Skills give an agent the build instructions and the OAuth2 registration steps, and the Core MCP server gives it the workspace.
